Pattern: 5 mm hook and medium yarn

Row 1: magic circle, work 12 double crochet into the ring. Join this row with a slip stitch. 

Row 2: Chain 2 and double crochet into the same stitch. Complete 2 double crochet in each stitch (total of 24 double crochet). Join the row with a slip stitch.

Row 3: Skip the first stitch and in the second work in 7 double crochet into the same stitch. Skip a stitch and complete a slip stitch in the next. (Repeat this pattern four more times as you go around the circle). You should have five mounds on your circle after this point.

Row 4: In the next stitch complete one single crochet, chain 10, and slipstitch across the chain back to your leaf. Join the stem and leaf together with a slip stitch, then slip stitch into the next stitch as well. 

Row 5: 

Leaf Edge 1: complete one single crochet in the next three stitches, then complete two half double crochet into the next, then chain three, and slipstitch into the third chain from the hook, then two more half double crochet in the same stitch, (this will help create the pointed parts of the leaf). In the next three stitches complete one single crochet in each. Work one slip stitch into the next stitch (end of one leaf edge). 

Leaf Edge 2: One single crochet in the first stitch, one half double crochet in the next two stitches. Next stitch: two double crochet chain 3, and slip stitch on the third chain from the hook, and two double crochet. in the next two stitches complete one half double crochet each. Complete one single crochet in the next stitch, then finish off with a slip stitch. 

Leaf Edge 3: Single crochet in the first stitch, half double crochet in the next stitch, double crochet in the third stitch. In the next stitch: Two triple crochet, chain 3, slip stitch in the third chain from the hook, and two triple crochet. Next stitch, one double crochet, next stitch one half double crochet, in last stitch: one single crochet, then slip stitch in between leaf edges.

Leaf Edge 4: One single crochet in the first stitch, one half double crochet in the next two stitches. Next stitch: two double crochet chain 3, and slip stitch on the third chain from the hook, and two double crochet. in the next two stitches complete one half double crochet each. Complete one single crochet in the next stitch, then finish off with a slip stitch. 

Leaf Edge 5: complete one single crochet in the next three stitches, then complete two half double crochet into the next, then chain three, and slipstitch into the third chain from the hook, then two more half double crochet in the same stitch, (this will help create the pointed parts of the leaf). In the next three stitches complete one single crochet in each. Work one slip stitch into the next stitch (end of one leaf edge). 

Fasten Off, and you're finished!
